Living in St Albans, Harpenden and Wheathampstead

Each of the areas we represent offer a high amount of well-reputed schools, making them extremely popular for families seeking quality education and a great lifestyle.

St Albans & Marshalswick

St Albans has a reputation for being an extremely desirable area for schools, as it boasts a high amount of top-rated state schools within the small city, such as Oakwood Primary School, Skyswood Primary & Nursery School and Wheatfields Infant and Nursery School (located near Marshalswick) for primary. Whilst there are examples like Beaumont School, St Albans Girls’ School and Sandringham School (also located near Marshalswick) for secondary.

Commutable to St Pancras International (in only 20 minutes via the fast train), St Albans offers 2 museums, a roman amphitheatre ruin, quaint historic architecture and beautiful parks. It also has a market twice a week, a bustling high street and an enormous amount of extra-curriculars to enjoy, so there is plenty to keep families entertained.

Harpenden

Despite being a smaller town than St Albans, Harpenden is also home to several exemplorary schools, such as Crabtree Infants School and Crabtree Junior School, High Beeches Primary School and The Grove Infant and Junior School for primary education. It offers Roundwood Park School, Sir John Lawes School and St George’s School for secondary education.

Harpenden is a pretty village that also has many clubs and extra-curricular activities available for families, along with a charming high street, village green and plenty of pubs and eateries. It sits on the Thameslink service for a speedy commute to London.

Wheathampstead

As a tiny village, Wheathampstead doesn’t have the plethora of schools that St Albans and Harpenden have to offer, but it sits in the catchment areas for highly rated schools in St Albans, Harpenden and Welwyn Garden City, whilst still being home to popular state primary schools itself: Beech Hyde Primary School and Nursery and St Helen’s Church of England Primary School. There is also the private school,  Aldwickbury School for ages 4-13.

Wheathampstead is a quintessential English village with a strong community feel, making it a coveted spot for families to move to. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and close to Heartwood Forest, there are plenty of idyllic walks and cycle routes available, whilst still having easy access to the busier St Albans and Welwyn Garden City.
